About

Frontiers of Global Sinology (FGS) (Print ISSN: 3106-5503; Online ISSN: 3106-5511) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Hong Kong Information Education Publishing Company Limited. FGS publishes two issues each year in both Chinese and English. 


Scope and Topics 

FGS focuses on a wide range of topics related to global sinology studies, including: 

  • Traditional Core Areas:

  • Language and Script (Classical Chinese, Chinese character documents, language dissemination), Classical Literature (poetry, ci poetry, qu opera, fu prose, novels, traditional operas), History and Archaeology (dynastic history, thematic history, historical sites and cultural relics), Philosophy and Thought (the Hundred Schools of Thought, religious ethics)
  • Modern Interdisciplinary Areas:

  • Modern and Contemporary Literature and Social History, Sino-foreign Cross-cultural Exchange (including the dissemination of theatrical art and international Chinese education), Art and Material Culture (traditional art, intangible cultural heritage, food culture), Studies on Economy, Law, and Politics
  • Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas:

  • Digital Sinology, Gender and Women's Studies, Ecological Sinology, Regional and Comparative Sinology, Overseas Chinese Literature and Diaspora Studies

This journal encourages interdisciplinary research, particularly on emerging topics such as the integration of artificial intelligence in global sinology studies. In line with international standard, FGS does not have fixed  sections or columns, but accepts high-quality research within these areas of focus.


Open Access Policy

FGS is a fully open access journal that provides immediate and permanent free access to all published content for all users worldwide without requiring any article processing charges (APCs) or subscription fees. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing unrestricted sharing, distribution, and reuse with proper attribution. Authors retain copyright of their work while granting the journal publishing rights. We support responsible scholarly sharing by permitting authors to deposit preprints in any repository without embargo and postprints immediately upon publication. This sustainable model maintains the highest standards of peer review and editorial quality while eliminating financial barriers to knowledge dissemination.
